Emergency Vehicle Use In Europe
Emergency vehicles play a vital role during various times of emergencies. Particularly, they are needed to attend to the immediate concerns needed by victims of accidents or sick individuals. With the use of these emergency vehicles, rescuers can travel faster and arrive earlier to the site of disaster. This way, they can respond immediately to the various needs of the victims. Conversely, patients can also be travelled faster to the hospitals for extensive medical care.
The numerous emergency vehicles used everywhere can be classified according to their specific uses. They can fall under the police and security type, fire and rescue, civil emergency, recovery, which is usually used for towing automobiles, and medical.
One of the most used and standard medical emergency vehicles utilized in Europe, and even all over the world, is the ambulance. An ambulance found in Europe can either be the typical ground ambulance or an air ambulance.
A ground ambulance is also classified to various types. One of the most common types of ground ambulance is the patient transport ambulance, which is mainly responsible for the transport of the sick or injured people from the site of happening to the hospital. This kind of ambulance does not have enough medical equipment to be used to attend to the patient while he or she is being transported to the hospital. However, other kinds of ground ambulances have medical equipment that medics can use to treat the patient while he or she is being transported to the hospital.
Air ambulance, on the other hand, is a helicopter or aircraft used for carrying injured persons or those who need immediate medical attention to hospitals. This kind of aircraft is fully equipped with needed medical equipment and apparatuses so the accompanying medics can treat the patient right away while he or she is being transported. Some of these medical equipment include stretchers, medicines, monitoring units, ventilators, ECGs, and CPRs. Unlike a ground ambulance, an air ambulance can travel faster on long distances and even to hard to reach terrains. That is why this kind of ambulance is also used in rescue operations to search for missing people. The United Kingdom is currently employing a total of 27 air ambulances to attend to medical emergencies all over England and Wales. Most of these 27 helicopters and aircrafts are being run by various commercial companies in the UK and are subsidised by different charitable organisations.

How to Select an Air Ambulance Provider
There are many things to look for when selecting an air ambulance provider. First off, like with many companies , you should check out the reviews. You want to check out the history of the company, like how long has it been in business and what do their safety records look like. It is best to check out the reviews of companies, not on their websites , but on 3rd party authority-type sites that have many companies listed and are comparing them. Another thing you should want to look at is what kind of air ambulance do they use. Some are better equipped than others typically and you will want an air ambulance that is best equipped to serve the patients needs. Also, fixed wing aircraft should be preferred, as they are relatively safer , more comfortable for the patient , and are larger (so they can house more equipment). You should also check out which type of aircraft they will be using as well as checking out how well equipped are they to handle different patients needs. You should also see how quickly they can get a patient from point A to point B. You should also check out and compare the prices to see which company can give you the better value. It is important to check with your insurance or to find out about what insurance will cover and whether the companies are accepted under any plan you may have.
You should also look into the staff of the company. How many people do they have working on an air ambulance team? How well trained are the staff, what credentials do they have and for your particular situation, do you require their staff to have a certain skill-set for your patient. Also, how long have they been with the company and does the company do thorough background checks on their employees. Another thing you should be wary of, is , if you are to Google for advice on choosing an air ambulance, a lot of the entries lead you to the company site, and the company site is the last place to get information from because they are just after your business, you have to be concerned with getting the best value. Choosing the right air ambulance can be very important and critical even ,, when the time comes and you need speedy care, make sure to do your research.
